What is the function of magnetic yoke in steel shell medium frequency furnace?

Jan 19, 2022

Yoke usually refers to soft magnetic materials that do not produce magnetic field (magnetic line of force) and only transmit magnetic line of force in the magnetic circuit. Yoke is generally made of soft iron, A3 steel and soft magnetic alloy with high permeability. In some special occasions, yoke is also made of ferrite materials.

Due to the existence of the yoke, we can transfer the magnetic force lines produced by the through wire package (coil) and permanent magnet to the place we need, which is a bit like a circuit.

Function of yoke

The steel shell medium frequency smelting furnace has a built-in profiling yoke, which can reduce magnetic leakage, prevent furnace heating and improve efficiency. At the same time, the magnetic yoke supports and fixes the induction coil, so that the furnace body can achieve high strength and low noise. The magnetic yoke is a crescent shaped magnetic yoke made of cold-rolled silicon steel sheet and stainless steel splint. The joint surface of iron core and coil is a circular arc surface, and the compression part is a surface rather than a line in the past. This structure has good compression effect and less magnetic leakage. After the silicon steel sheet is stacked, it is tightened with a special splint instead of a special threading screw. This structure can make full use of the magnetic conduction area of the silicon steel sheet and reduce the possibility of local heating of the furnace body of the medium frequency induction melting furnace.
