Improve knowledge, composition, principle and working characteristics of induction furnace

Sep 21, 2022

As an intermediate frequency heating and smelting equipment, electric furnace is mainly used for the heat treatment process of metals in the metallurgical industry. Let's briefly introduce the induction furnace from its composition, working principle and specific application.

1. Composition of electric furnace

Aluminum shell structure: medium frequency power cabinet, compensation capacitor bank, aluminum shell furnace body and water-cooled cable, reducer, furnace tilting operation box, etc.

Steel shell structure: medium frequency power cabinet, compensation capacitor bank, steel shell furnace body, magnetic yoke and water-cooled cable, hydraulic station, furnace tilting control box, etc.

2. Working principle

The induction furnace mainly uses the principle of electromagnetic induction heating to heat metal. The current generates a magnetic field through the inductor coil, and the magnetic field cuts the metal in the coil to generate eddy current, which heats the metal itself. It is widely used for heating before forging, quenching and tempering of steel bars, and metal smelting.

3. Working characteristics

(1) The electric furnace is widely used for smelting steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, gold, silver and other materials.

(2) The medium frequency smelting technology can rapidly increase the temperature of molten metal, and the heating range is uniform, which is conducive to scum and reduces impurities;

(3) The equipment is small in size and light in weight. The smelting capacity ranges from a few kilograms to hundreds of kilograms. It can be selected from a wide range, which is not only suitable for factory production, but also for small smelting in schools and research institutes.
