Factors determining induction heating efficiency

Nov 12, 2021

The total efficiency of the induction heating system, that is the ratio of the power obtained on the workpiece to the input power of the power supply, is related to the following four factors:

1. Conversion efficiency of power supply;

2. Tuning state of induction heating circuit;

3. Matching state of heating load and coil to power supply;

4. Coupling state between coil and workpiece.

Among the above four related factors, the conversion efficiency of power supply is closely related to the type of current converter. Generally speaking, the conversion efficiency of solid-state oscillator is high, while the conversion efficiency of vacuum tube RF oscillator is the lowest
